I’ve Been Nominated for a Liebster Award: Here are MY Nominees, and my Questions/Answers!

I want to thank Bitsy Besty for nominating me for the Liebster Award, an award for new bloggers. She asked me some great questions, and I was happy to answer them! Check out the Q and A below:

  1. You’ve fallen and skinned your knee. Two band aids are left in the box. One is Spongebob on surfboard and the other is Elsa from Frozen. Which band-aid do you choose and why? ANSWER: Since my daughter has a monopoly on Queen Elsa here at my home, I would have to choose Spongebob to spare myself from some serious drama. Of course, real heroes would just use a magic potion, or a heal spell.
  1. You have 20 minutes in a room with Kim Kardashian. Would you rather have a conversation with her (if so, what would you ask?) or scrape off her makeup to see what is underneath? ANSWER: If I were in a room with Kim Kardashian, I guess I would have to call my wife and continue a conversation with her until the 20 minutes were up. That way, I would have less explaining to do. If I had to ask Kim questions, I guess I would ask, “Who are you, and why should I care?”
  1. What is the one book you can’t live without? ANSWER: Techniques of the Selling Writer. With that book, I would have my own mind, and the techniques of a selling writer, basically allowing me to have EVERY BOOK I COULD EVER WANT!!
  1.  Which T.V.  shows do you wish would crawl off the face of the earth and never return? ANSWER: I would probably get rid of the shows that try to make rich, dumb people seem interesting, but only if I had to, because it’s not up to me to decide what other people should/shouldn’t watch.
  1. Chicken, beef or vegetarian? What’s your favorite dish? ANSWER: I like to eat chicken (you’re welcome, cows). My favorite dish is homemade chicken and broccoli. Beside that, pizza, all the way & any way.
  1. Which do you think you would have a better chance of escaping: T-Rex or Godzilla? ANSWER: I would have a better chance of escaping Godzilla. Once you find out where Godzilla is, you can leave the city. T-Rex, on the other hand, has been known to take over boats and drive them to new locations. Then, you MUST have either Dr. Grant or Jeff Goldblum on your team to stop it.

(I guess there was supposed to be 11 but Besty only made it to six. Not a problem, I’ll help her out and improvise, BY STEALING THE ONES SHE HAD TO ANWER!!)

  1. What is one fun or interesting fact about yourself? ANSWER: I can juggle, and I have written Ebooks. That’s two interesting facts, so you’re definitely welcome!
  2. Any goals you are working on or have for this year? ANSWER: I already started blogging, and look where it got me. I’ve been nominated for the best award ever to be awarded to any blogger ever, in the history of blogs, ever! Also, I would like to publish another Ebook this year, and I will, if I get done with any of them. Currently in the works, is a science fiction book about a “virtual reality” machine, and a thriller about cannibals. Also, on the back-burner, a book about zombies, and a science fiction anthology.

9 What’s your favorite recipe to share (and share it!)?

ANSWER: Although chicken and broccoli might be my favorite dish, my favorite RECIPE is something more simple to make: Chili. Chili’s pretty easy to make. Grab a few cans of different variety beans, a can of tomato paste, a couple cans of diced tomatoes, half an onion, one green pepper, 1 pound of beef. Okay, now, fry your beef, drain the oil, add the peppers and onions (after cutting), fry them for a while, add them to a pot of the beans, tomatoes, and tomato paste. Add a bunch of spices until it tastes how you want it to taste. I prefer some chili powder, onion powder, garlic, salt & pepper, cayenne pepper, oregano, and Parmesan cheese. Maybe some other stuff to, if it’s available. Go nuts! It’s yours!

  1. What’s the most interesting thing you’ve heard recently?

ANSWER: Wow, there are so many things. 1st of all, I’ve been nominated to receive a Liebster Award! Wow, someone likes me! Also, the new videos of Final Fantasy XV have grabbed my attention. But something that I’m not sure is true or not, is that Playstation 4 might soon be able to play games from the PS1 and PS2. If THAT’s true, then I’m pretty sure I know what my next console will be after I beat my backlog gaming goal. If anyone can validate this, and link to some progress, please let me know. Seriously.

  1. Favorite movie?

ANSWER: It’s not fair to make me choose just one, but Back to the Future. Yes, even with all its flaws, that’s probably my number 1 favorite movie of all time. I also like American Beauty, Office Space, Factotum, True Romance, What Dreams May Come, and so it goes.

Now it’s time for: ELEVEN RANDOM FACTS ABOUT MEEEEEE……

  1. I am a Dad, and I am responsible for my daughter becoming a gamer. When she becomes a teenager, I will ignore this fact, and insist that my daughter play outside like I did when I was her age. If she does, I will play her video games!

  2. I am a husband. My wife, who insists that she is NOT a gamer, is sitting on the couch right now, playing Sonic the Hedgehog.

  3. I am an avid reader/writer. I do not get paid for blogging, however, that would be incredibly awesome! You guys should totally pay me to write and play video games, or just send me video games to write about. If you’d rather support me in other ways, you could always check out some of my Ebook fiction! Since I don’t want to spam all over my beautiful award page, I’ll just post that information in my “About Me” page!

  4. I don’t have any current generation consoles. That’s right, because I have a goal to beat at least 35 (thinking about upping it to 50) games on previous gen consoles before I buy a current gen console for myself. I was so serious about the goal that I started an entire blog about it. It’s the one you’re reading.

  5. Red Dead Redemption is probably the only Triple A title that I’ve ever beat in under a month. I’m a slow gamer. I like to take my time when I play, and I have a family and a full-time job… and a blog! Red Dead Redemption, however, made me feel like I was a cowboy living in the old west. That, and the excellent gameplay, kept me glued to my TV and Xbox.

  6. I know almost nothing about vehicle maintenance, but wish I did.

  7. I’m afraid of heights.

  8. I’m not personally afraid of clowns, but two of my closest friends are so afraid of the painted performers that I felt compelled to include a scary clown on the cover of my horror anthology, Flashlight Stories

  9. I’ve never beat the original Super Mario Bros., but I have beat Super Mario 64, Super Mario Wii, and Super Mario Galaxy. There are several Super Mario games on my Gaming Backlog, but the original Super Mario Bros. is not one of them.

  10. The first RPG I ever played was the original Dragon Warrior (now known as Dragon Quest). Whenever I start a new RPG, I acknowledge that I’m always a little annoyed that it isn’t Dragon Warrior. If anyone knows where I can find, and play, the original Dragon Warrior, let me know. Virus-free is always a plus.

  11. I used to watch so many scary movies when I was younger, that scary movies are now incredibly boring to me. However, I WILL NOT play a scary video game. Don’t believe me? Check my list of backlogged games. You’re not going to find any Resident Evils on there. The haunted houses in Mario games are the closest thing I’ll come to playing anything in the horror genre.

As part of this process, I was also able to nominate some bloggers who I enjoy. Here they are:

Going Box by Box

Mixer Gaming

Crevices

SlickGaming

Gamer Crash

Boing Boing Boing

RPG’s Sucks

my video game pile of shame

Explore Animation

I’ve chosen to nominate these individuals because I found them interesting, and a good time investment for anyone who wants to read for entertainment. For any of you nominees who want to participate in the Liebster Awards, information about the award and how to proceed can be wound right here.

ALSO, if you DO choose to participate, I’ve left you some of my own, unique questions to answer:

Your Questions to Answer:

  1. What’s your earliest memory?

  2. Which wild animal would you like to turn into a meal, and what kind of meal would it be?

  3. This is a philosophy question… Can you prove that this question does not exist?

  4. If you were a Super Mario character, which one would you be?

  5. If you were a professional wrestler, what would your name be?

  6. What’s your favorite planet, besides Earth, and why?

  7. If you could travel through time, what would you do with that power?

  8. You’ve just randomly met someone you’ve always wanted to meet. Who is this person, and how do you react?

  9. If you were just given $1,000,000, tax-free, how much of that money would be spent on video games and video game paraphernalia?

  10. Name one thing that you want, but can’t have.

  11. What do you think of the person who nominated you?… Nah, just kidding. What’s your favorite color? Mine’s blue.

Special Note: I want to thank everyone who has spent some time reading and/or commenting on my blog. You have made this writing experience just as pleasurable as my gaming experience.
